Definition of Cisterna Chyli
Cisterna Chyli is a saclike structure of the lymphatic system, located behind the stomach, that collects lymph draining from the abdomen, notably the gastrointestinal region, and the lower body.
The cisterna chyli empties into the thoracic duct.
